So You've Got a New Librarian: Poster
June 2019

Poster presenting the
This poster was presented at the Infrastructure Poster Session during the 2019 American Library Association Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. It represents the next phase of my research into onboarding new librarians.
Abstract
Poster Text
After the MLS Annual Meeting in November of 2018, I began work on a training guide for new librarians at my library. This training manual is available to be viewed here.

This living document was created using Springshare's LibGuides software and will continue to be edited for content, accuracy, and training purposes.

The next step of my research project is to take the feedback that I received at ALA 2019 and turn this guide into a template that will be hosted by the Massachusetts Library System. The template will be customizable by any library that has access to Springshare's LibGuides software.

I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions that you may have. Please feel free to send me a message using the "

Survey results
In September of 2018 I created a survey based upon the Association of Research Libraries' SPEC Kit 344: Talent Management. The survey was distributed via email to a variety of listservs in hopes of getting information from librarians in Academic, Public, School, and Special libraries.

I received responses from 112 individuals during the 11-day period that the survey was open. There is a multitude of data to go through and digest. I hope to present on different aspects of these findings at various LIS professional  conferences in the coming year.

For more information on the survey, its results, and when/where/how the research will be presented next, please send me a message using the "contact me" page above.
